To me, this song isn’t just about loving one another in a relationship unconditionally; it’s about loving — whether it’d be a family member, a friend, or yourself — unconditionally.
I truly believe that you should learn to love yourself before you can love anyone else (relationship-wise). But what I’m really trying to get at is this: Many people today experience insecurities having to do with appearance. This song is just a reminder that there are people out there that love you no matter what.
As cliche as it sounds, you are beautiful in your very own way. Like the man Musiq says himself, “beauty is way more than skin deep.” It’s in you. It won’t be easy, but you just have to find it and believe it.
